Errata Sheets in North Carolina are governed by Rule 30 of North Carolina’s Rules of Civil Procedure. N.C. Gen. Stat. Ann. §1A-1 (West 2017). Rule 30 requires that the witness be given the transcript of his/her deposition to review unless the parties mutually agree to waive this requirement. Id. If the witness makes changes to the testimony it should produce a signed statement of the changes and the reasons for making said changes. Id. The witness has 30 days to make the desired changes and sign the certificate. Id. If the witness refuses to sign or is unable, the deposition officer, after 30 days, will sign and the deposition will be used as fully signed. Id.
